Applying For Your Colorado Nursing License
For nurses interested in travel nurse opportunities in Colorado, the first thing to do is visit the Colorado Board of Nursing website. A license for nurses in Colorado can be obtained via examination or endorsement. An examination is for new licensees who do not have an active RN license in another state. An endorsement is for nurses who hold an active license in another state.
The fees are:
- Examination = $135
- Endorsement = $90
Nurses need the following documents to obtain a Colorado RN license:
- Completed application
- Affidavit of Eligibility Form
- Copy of an active license
- Proof of U.S. citizenship
As part of the Colorado nursing license application process, nurses will also need to answer a variety of screening questions. Some of these licensing questions will include questions related to criminal history and/or pending complaints filed and questions about the number of hours a nurse has practiced nursing.
Renewing Your Colorado Nursing License
Nurses who already hold a nursing license in Colorado need to be aware of license expiration. Online License Renewal does not open until approximately 4-6 weeks prior to the Colorado state nursing license expiration date. After that, a nurse can complete the renewal process online.
Nurses should note that there is a $108 fee for nursing license renewal.
RNs who have let their Colorado license expire or lapse need to apply for reinstatement.
