Your Massachusetts Nursing License Guide
The first step in your journey to a Massachusetts nursing license starts with a visit to the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing. Here, you will find all of the information needed to apply for a license or get a mass board of nursing license renewal if you have already been licensed in this state.

- 2X2 color passport photo
- The ability to prove that you “Are of Good Moral Character,” as defined by state law
Fees for applying by reciprocity:
- Application fee: $275 per application
- License verification fee: $30 per license
Fees for applying by exam:
- Application fee: $230 per application
Renewal Information:
- You must renew your RN license every 2 years by your birthday
- RN license expires on EVEN-numbered years
- RN renewal fee: $120
